Chohoji Tahoto (Two-storied pagoda at Chohoji Temple)
According to the history of this temple, it is said that this pagoda was built at the same time as the main hall. However, the name of this pagoda appears in an ancient text from the year 1344 (specifically, a record of public donations solicited for the construstion of a buddhist temple to house atable in memory of the priest Kobo-Daishi[774-835]). For this reason, it i s thought that this pagoda was actually built around that time. This pagoda is said to be a well-balancedmasterpiece, gracefully constructed in the pure Japanese style.
